Here is the exercise on dovetailing we'll be doing at the Level 1 course (an almost identical version of it, anyway). You can see my favorite method for transferring the tails into the pin board: David Barron's dovetail alignment gig on my Moxon vice.
The suede feet are cut to size to match the box (you can see the samples being compared). The leather is backed with double sided sticky tape prior to cutting, which is also a trick I got from Barron - a resourceful craftsman, in deed. I have learnt a great deal from his blog, magazine articles and DVD's, and I am a happy owner of some of his tools. Check his site!
