BUTSUDAN

September 9, 2016

A Butsudan is a japanese buddhist altar, meant to house the Gohonzon, a calligraphy made by monks, which is object of cult.

It is made by hand from american walnut and hard maple. A few gentle curves accent a rather sober design.

My first attempt at fine cabinetmaking, quite some time ago already!
