I have designed and built this timber frame structure for a community near Montserrat. Many people helped and it was a nice experience, a non-stop woodworking project from 8AM till 8PM for 14 days.
Nuria commissioned a small cabinet for the entry of her home. I think her sculpture sits very nicely on top of it!

This knotted piece was supposed to be waste wood, but I made a small case instead. At the bottom of the hole there is a layer of mongoy veneer.
Nice little project.
A Butsudan is a japanese buddhist altar, meant to house the Gohonzon, a calligraphy made by monks, which is object of cult.
It is made by hand from american walnut and hard maple. A few gentle curves accent a rather sober design.
